Summary French bullfighter Sebastian Castella is recovering after he was gored in the ring on Saturday, fracturing his left clavicle.
The bullfight in central Colombia was part of La Macarena de Medellin, 450 kilometres northwest of the capital city of Bogota. After Castella stabbed the charging bull, the animal gored him, sending the bullfighter into the air before the animal fell dead. Castella landed on his left shoulder and struggled to get up before an assistant helped him to his feet. After Castella waved to the crowd, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery. The local media reported that Castella underwent successful surgery. The injury is expected to keep the 28-year-old Castella out of the ring for six weeks.
