Summary

South Africa beat India by 48 runs in 4th one day. The rain forecast came good but only late in the day. By then, India were virtually shut out of the fourth ODI, though Virat Kohli (87, 92 balls, 7x4, 2x6) and Harbhajan Singh were still on the crease. The rain came with India at 137 for six in 31.3 overs, neding 129 more to win the game and the series. When they came back after a delay of more than an hour, the original target was reduced by five runs and overs cut by four. Thus, India needed 123 off 87 balls. Soon, with India at 142 for six, the rain came again. After 20 minutes, the game was called off with South Africa winning by 48 runs. The series now is 2-2 and it's now off to Centurion for the final showdown on Sunday which is only fair given the way the tour has gone, a battle between equals. The Indian replay was about two contrasts running parallel one was Virat Kohli standing tall despite the run-chase floundering all around him. The other was the surrender by the rest of the line-up. Of course, South Africa, in a must-win situation, mustered sufficient intensity and fire to make India's path arduous. Still, as Virat showed, a worthier riposte was not beyond the visitors.
