Summary There are places for Leon Goretzka and Kevin Volland but Gomez is not in the list.

BERLIN (AFP) - Veteran striker Mario Gomez was the major omission as Germany coach Joachim Loew named a 30-man World Cup squad on Thursday.

However, there are places for young attacking midfielder Leon Goretzka of Schalke 04 and Hoffenheim forward Kevin Volland.
