SYDNEY: Peter Senior has won the Australian Open by one stroke, overcoming horrendous weather conditions in which gale-force winds forced a three-hour suspension of play.
The 53-year-old regular of the U.S. Champions Tour shot a final-round even-par 72 at The Lakes to finish with a 72-hole total of 4-under 284.
Fellow Australian Brendan Jones was second after a 71, while countryman Cameron Percy finished third after a 73, two strokes behind.
