Summary Football ground located in sector I T&T has been turned into ruins due to CDAs negligence.
This is the oldest football ground in the federal capital, which is named Akbar football ground. It was inaugurated in 1977 to attract the youths towards healthy activities.During the tenure of former chairman CDA Kamran Lashari, a handsome grant was allocated towards repair, renovation and decoration of the ground. Fences were erected, floodlights were fitted and other facilities were provided to give a new look to the ground.Due to lack of attention by the incumbent administration of CDA, ground is wearing the look of Mohenjo Daro ruins.Flood lights have been stolen and fences are facing wear and tear and most of them have been broken.This ground produced national level players who represented Islamabad in national sports but presently the fund is spent on some selective grounds to please the favorites, said an officer bearer of football club.The citizens particularly the youths demanded renovation work of the ground should be carried out on fast track basis.
