Summary Rachid el Morabity maintained the overall lead by winning second stage of Morocco Marathon.
Stage two of the Marathon des Sables saw winner Rachid el Morabity of Morocco run the 38.5km stage in two hours and 50 minutes 24 seconds on Monday to retain the overall lead.Jordans Salameh al Aqra took second place on the stage two minutes and 14 seconds behind el Morabity, and Mohamad Ahansal of Morocco finished third - but he is second in the overall reckoning. The Jordanian is third overall.Aziz el Akad of Morocco was fourth on the day with two Italians: Lorenzo Trincheri and Antonio Salaris fifth and sixth.The fastest woman runner is Laurence Klein of France who finished both 23rd on the stage and overall.
