Summary Traders blocked the Gujranwala Road by burning tyres over alleged police torture on a local trader.
The enraged protestors pelted stones on police vehicles and broke window panes. Three police personnel were injured in the attack.The victim merchant Muhammad Zafarullah said that he was working on his shop when ASI Rai Lal Khan, belt no. 15/10, along with other police personnel came and demanded agri machinery worth thousands of rupees by blackmailing him.On refusal, they tortured him and took him with them, Zafarullah said.However, police told a different story. They said Zafarullah got loan from a private bank and his warrants was issued on non-payment. Police went to arrest him but protestors attacked police party with batons and stones.
