Summary Police have been put on high alert in Karachi on the occasion of Hazarat Imam Hussains Chehlum.
The ban on pillion riding has been imposed from 5pm on Saturday till 12am on Sunday.According to Sindh Home Department, the ban on pillion riding has been imposed to counter possible security threats on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain.On the other hand, more than 10,000 police and Rangers officials will be deployed on the route of the main procession and around Nishtar Park which is venue of the main Majlis while the Bomb Disposal Squad will ensure technical sweeping at the routes and venues.Moreover police officials will also be deployed at 200 buildings on this occasion. Police have arranged containers and put them on both sides of MA Jinnah Road to close the route of the procession for general traffic.
