Summary CAA conducted a full-scale airport emergency exercise 'Air Contingency' to check staff efficiency.
The Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Pervez George said while talking to the press at Multan Airport.He said that beside CAA other relevant organization participated in the exercise. They include ASF, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, PIA, PSO, Civil Defence, Fire Fighter Service Multan City, Rescue1122, Edhi Welfare, doctors and paramedical staff.During the exercise, he said that, fire fighters practically demonstrated their professional skill. On the other hand Army helicopters and ambulances practically presented their efficiency in shifting the injured passengers to the hospitals.The CAA spokesman informed this exercise was a part of such exercises conducted every year at various civil airports. The purpose of such exercise is to assess the ability of all the agencies working at the airports to combat with the emergency in minimum possible time to avoid major damages.The exercise turned out to be a big success as all participants managed to accomplish the task in response time defined by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.Among those official who witnessed the exercise include Chaudhry Ashraf Shad, General Manager North, Farooq Rashid Airport Manager Multan.
