Summary Preparations are underway to re-launch the Indus Queen ship after overhaul.
The ship had been standing in Indus River in a poor state for the last 30 years.Nawab of Bawalpur had gifted this ship to renowned sufi poet Khwaja Ghulam Farid. It remained in order till 1980 and used to provide service to passengers on voyage between Kotmithan and Chachran Sharif.This ship, once again, is being renovated to make it able to carry passengers.The Tourism Department and the local administration have visited the area for construction of picnic points and huts.
