Summary The PPP and the PML-N have demanded arrangement of local polls at once in Punjab.
Both of the parties have submitted their requisitions in the Punjab Assembly in this regard.Requisition put by the PPP says that local government system is the spirit of true democracy which plays vital role for solution of problems faced by people. The PPP termed delay in formation of these institutes negation of democracy.On the other hand, PML-Q’s parliamentary leader Ch Zahiruddin also submitted a requisition, seeking handover of all the development projects as well as law and order, education and health to the local governments.Likewise, PML-Q Qamar Hayat Kathia and Kamran also submitted an adjournment motion against alleged diversion of funds meant for dengue control to the PML-N rally to be held on October 28.Zobia Arbab Malik from the PML-N also condemned torture against students and lady health workers and filed an adjournment motion in the Assembly Secretariat.
