Summary A youth shot dead a student in front of Kinnaird College Lahore and later committed suicide.
Police said Shams Alam, resident of Kot Lakhpat, wanted to marry second-year student Samar Warsi of Kinnaird College. The girl’s father however turned down his proposal. Shams stopped Samar outside the college, but she refused to talk. Both had an exchange of harsh words.Shams pulled out a pistol and shot Samar twice in the head. He later shot himself in the head and committed suicide. A passerby, Bashir, was injured when the falling pistol fired another shot. Samar’s father is a railway employee while Shams Alam’s both parents have died and he has two younger sisters.
