Summary An embankment has been constructed at Indus River but it breached a few months after its completion.
To protect Dera Ismail Khan from the Indus River, a dyke was constructed at a cost of Rs 16 million on Indus River. But due to technical faults and poor maintenance it has been decaying after a few months. Several villages and towns are likely to submerge due to about 300 feet breach.It is pertinent to mention here that the Dunya News had pointed out the use of substandard material.On the other hands, intelligence agencies have started investigation of the matter.
