Summary Law-enforcement agencies have seized heavy weapons and explosive material in Peshawar.
The operation was launched in Matni and Budabair, suburbs of the provincial capital, officials said on Saturday.CCPO Peshawar Imtiaz Altaf told media that police conducted operation at Matni and Buda Bair areas on secret information. During the operation, heavy weapons including 13 hand grenades, remote-controlled bombs, detonators and 8 kg of explosive martial to be used in suicide vests were recovered.“Police thwarted a terrorism bid in Peshawar and recovered explosives in a raid in Matni and Budabair and arrested several people,” Altaf said.He said that hand of foreigner agencies in terror activities in the province could not be ruled out.The CCPO admitted some “black sheep” in police have been supporting the militants. However, he said police will flush out terrorists soon.
