Summary The election campaign for by-election to be held on October 23 in LA 19 Rawalakot has begun.
The candidates for the by- election include daughter of AJK President Sardar Yaqoob Khan, Farzana Yaqoob of PPP, Sardar Ijaz Afzal Khan of Jamat-e-Islami, Tahir Anwar of PML-N and an independent candidate Nayyar Ayub.In case of PML-N-Jamat-e-Islami alliance, the real competition is expected between Farzana Yaqoob and Sardar Ijaz Afzal Khan.PPP Azad Kashmir President Sardar Khalid Ibrahim’s withdrawal from the election has stabled the way for Farzana Yaqub’s victory; however, differences persist inside PPP on the candidature of Farzana.
