Summary Police and Rangers used water cannon and tear gas to disperse protesting KESC employees.
According to details, the KESC employees staged a protest demonstration in front of head office against non-payment of salaries. The guards of the KESC Head Office open fire on the protesters when they tried to enter to office, which resulted in injuries to six people.The firing by guards infuriated protesters and they pelted stones on KESC vehicles. The protesters also set ablaze a police mobile van.Police and Rangers reached the spot and resorted to shooting in the air and also used tear gas and water cannon to disperse the protesters.
