Balochistan: only 10 of 64 MPAs attend assembly session

Summary Ten out of 64 members participated in the third session of Balochistan Assembly session.

So-called champions of law and order are in the habit of sleeping during most of the sessions, but during Ramazan, all the important decisions were put off due to lack of quorum.Balochistan Assembly sessions are notorious for ‘planning, plotting and doing nothing’ but during Ramazan, assembly members crossed all the limits of negligence and did not bother attendance. The current session like previous ones started with the Deputy Speaker in the chair but was deferred after five minutes due to lack of quorum for indefinite time as ten out of 64 members showed up.It is worth mentioning that a committee had been formed in the very beginning of the Ramazan to overcome inflation, but it could not give relief to the poor despite a lapse of 20 days.It is generally alleged that most of the MPs habitually apply for leaves and those who unwillingly came to attend the session, waste time by dozing off in the peaceful environment of the Assembly.
