The recruitments in Irrigation Department for the posts of baildar have been stopped abruptly on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.The Punjab government, on the recommendation of the MPAs, ordered to the district coordination officers to initiate the recruitment process again.All DCOs were instructed via cell phones to seize all the data about the candidates who had applied for the job.Now the candidates will be appointed on permanent basis, instead of contract basis.New appointments will be made on the quota system of the government lawmakers.The decision left the candidates, who had cleared interviews and test for the job, disappointed.The candidates say the act is a violation of merit.
