Summary Employees of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) once again staged strike on Thursday.

They have not been paid for the past three months.The electricity crisis in the city has intensified as the employees refuse to do renovation tasks. Electricity crisis sparked a clash between law enforcement agencies and residents of Liaqat Aabad. Rangers opened fire to disperse the protesters.According to details, Eid package was announced in a meeting in the Governor House for the employees who did not perform their duties for 3 months in solidarity with surplus employees of KESC who were fired earlier.However, this remained an unfulfilled promise even after 3 weeks. The non-paid employees once again started unannounced strike for claiming their pays.The unattended electricity faults have been in the areas of Defence, Landhi, Nister Road, Sarjani Town and various other areas. These include PMT and cable faults and broken wires.
