Summary The Sindh High Court has ordered provincial Social Welfare Department to patronise helpless kids.
The Human Rights for South Asia filed a constitutional petition in the court according to which 32,000 kids were wandering in Karachi without any shelter. Out of them, 17,000 were compelled to live rough on roads and parks. The petitioner also said that it was responsibility of the Sindh government to take care of them but it was showing indifference. The same case is with the Sindh Social Welfare Department that has nothing to do with the problems faced by the ill-fated people. It is worth-mentioning that dozens of human rights organisations are working in Karachi but the number of homeless children is enhancing by 15 to 20 per day which is a question mark on the performance of social organisations.
