Summary In occupied Kashmir, at least 10 persons were injured when Indian troops used brute force.
A class 7th student, Sahil Ahmad Khan, was injured when the police and CRPF personnel fired teargas shells on the protesters at Nowhatta in Srinagar.The incident occurred when the protesters who were chanting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans tried to take out a protest rally. The police and CRPF men deployed in strength in advance intercepted them, resorted to baton charge and lobbed teargas shells to disperse them.A teargas shell hit Sahil on the head while another boy received injuries to his leg. The local people told mediamen that the bleeding boy was also hit by a vehicle of men in uniform. The critically injured youth were shifted to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.Meanwhile, clashes and anti-India protests were also held in Sopore and Bandipore against the recent custodial death of 26-year-old Nazim Rashid Shalla in Sopore and the killing of another youth in a fake encounter in Poonch.The police also arrested four youth identified as Hilal Ahmad Ganai, Mohammad Shafi Banday, Mudasir Shafi Khan and Haroon Rashid Gatoo during pro-freedom demonstrations in Sopore town.
