Karachi: Lawyers on strike against NGOs of judges

Summary Lawyers in Karachi are boycotting all courts in the city in protest against former judges NGOs.

City courts, Malir Court and other lower courts are closed due to lawyers strike while there is a holyday in Sindh High Court.The lawyers are protesting against the offices of the NGOs of former judges Justice (r) Nasir Aslam, Justice (r), Justice (r) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui and Justice (r) Zafar Ahmad Sherwani.The offices are established in the premises of prisons and court buildings and the lawyers are demanding their abolishment.The people coming to courts for their cases are suffering due to the strike.Karachi Bar Association President Muhammad Aqil and Mali Bar Secretary Khalid Mehmood said that they would announce their future course of action after Sindh High Court’s verdict on August 23.
