Summary The residents of New Preedy Street protested against loadshedding and set a KESC vehicle on fire.

A large number of the citizens protested and blocked the road in New Preedy Street area of Karachi after a 20-hour power shutdown in New Preedy Street and the adjoining areas. The protesters pelted stones on the vehicles and set a KESC van on fire.After the information of the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached at the scene.According to the protesters, the electric supply has not been resumed despite the repeated complaints registered to the KESC.The KESC Spokesperson said that 15 % of consumers were affected by loadshedding due to technical fault in Bin Qasim Power Plant and the operation is underway to remove the fault.
