Lahore: verdict reserved on plea to recover abducted girl

The IG Punjab expressed his helplessness before the court. LHC’s Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan began the hearing of the case.The counsel for plaintiff said that six-year-old Kaniz was abducted from Okara in 2005. An FIR was lodged against accused in Basirpur Police Station but the abducted child could not be traced till today.The IG told the court that he had tried his best to search her out but all his efforts proved futile.At this, the LHC Justice commented who will be protector of the institution whose head was so helpless. Your written statement would be sent to the CM Punjab, the justice remarked.He also said that if the child of an officer had been lost, the entire police department would have been at pins and needles. He asked the police official if the life of a common man was worthless.
