Summary More than 5000 tube-well connections in different districts of Balochistan are illegal.
Balochistan’s electricity requirement is 1250 MW which has increased by 100 MW as compare to last year.One of the main reasons is increasing number of illegal tube-well connections in the province.Currently, 24471 tube-wells connections are functioning in Balochistan including Quetta out of which more than 5000 connections are illegal.The agri tube-well consumers utilize 75 percent of total demand.QESCO is facing a loss of Rs 250 million per month due to theft of electricity by the agri tube-wells owners.
