Summary 300 feet wide breach in Murad Canal occurred due to negligence of Irrigation Department.
The breach in the Murad canal passing near Chak No 15 of Chishtian submerged 800 acres of cotton crop.The water distribution schedule for hundreds of villages was also affected due to the breach and hundreds of acres of cotton crop are in danger of devastation.Also, and production could be reduced due to disturbance in the schedule of water distribution.The irrigation officials stopped the canal flow after 10 hours of informing them while the breach could not be filled despite lapse of 20 hours.
