Summary FESCO has started cutting electricity connections of non-paying government institutions.
Electricity connections of WASA’s 39 supply and sewerage stations have been cut.According to Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (FESCO) officials, Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) owe Rs 60 million rupees to the FESCO but has refused to pay the money.On the other side, 21 institutions of the federal and provincial governments in Faisalabad also owe Rs 280 million rupees and have not paid a penny for the last many years. These non-paying government institutions include railway, Sui gas, PTCL, Faisalabad Police and local government institutions.A FESCO spokesman said that after WASA, electricity connections of other non-paying institutions would also be cut.
