Summary Five of a family have drowned in Ravi River in Lahore on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
A resident of Shadbagh, Lahore, Ramzan took his sisters, Shazia, Sameena and Tayyaba along with their children for a picnic on Ravi river-bank. Ramzan, his sisters and one of their children stepped down into the river without having to know of its depth and thus drowned. The children standing on the river-bank informed home about the mishap.Meanwhile, rescue teams with the help of a local diver managed to discover the corpses of Shazia and Rizwan. The search operation for the remaining corpses was stopped at night and would continue tomorrowbecause a rescue official had got bitten by a snake.
