Summary At least six dacoits looted Rs 5 lakh from a private bank and fled the scene.
The dacoits entered into a private bank on Samundri Road in the jurisdiction of D-Type police station and held the bank staff at gun point including three guards and a police commando.The dacoits looted Rs 5lakh from the bank counter.The people outside the bank tried to resist but the dacoits opened fire and injured a passer-by. Despite a police check post at some distance, the dacoits succeeded to flee.The citizens enraged and blocked Samundari Road. The protesters said that this was second dacoity in the same bank due to failure of the city police.
