Summary Police set free an influential person involved in rape after arrest.
The victim Sumera, a resident of Millat Chowk, informed that she worked in a private clinical laboratory owned by one Malik Ramzan. On May 10, Ramzan raped her when she was alone in the laboratory. Police registered the case next day and arrested the accused.The victim claimed that the staff of Women’s Police Station is not taking her for medical check-up to hide the crime. She also informed that police have set free the accused on night. The police station staff also confirmed that the accused was set free on the intervention of some high ups.
