Summary Bahawalnagar police arrested two policemen for stealing 33 kilogramme marijuana from police storage.
Few months ago, Bahawalnagar police arrested the former city bar council secretary Zafar Bhota with 33 kilogramme of marijuana. The police confiscated the drug and filed a challan in the court against the accused. During the hearing of the case, when the drug was produced before the court, it turned into slices of soap. Bahawalnagar District Police Officer Salman Ali Khan ordered a probe into the matter. The investigation team discovered that two police official, the custodian of police store and a sub-inspector, replaced the drug with soap. The official received a large amount of bribe from the accused. Recovering the drug, police also found Rs 1 million that officials involved had received as bribe.
