At least 4,500 employees of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) staged a protest against their inclusion into the surplus pool and against their dismissals. Addressing outside the Karachi Press Club, CBA’s chairman Ikhlaq Ahmed said that KESC was firing the employees forcefully and this was similar to economic murder of them. He said that KESC’s present administration had failed to follow the policy of privatisation.
