Summary A youth was publicly tortured to death by dozens of people after he was accused of a robbery.
According to the police report, rickshaw driver Babur had a quarrel with Luqman during which they exchanged harsh words. After the quarrel, Luqman invited Babur to his residence in Gharibabad. When Babur arrived, Luqman accused him of a robbery and called out for help. The neighbours gathered and started to publicly torture Babur, injuring him critically. Rescue officials arrived and took him to the District hospital where he succumbed to his injures.After the victim’s family protested, police registered a case against Luqman, Nazim, Amanat and several unidentified people but so far no arrest were made.
