Summary Gold worth 2.5 million was looted while a police official was shot dead by the dacoits.
According to detail, Nazir, an employee of a local jeweller was on his way taking gold with him when two dacoits stopped him near B Division Police Station during load-shedding hours.Nazir resisted and shouted for help upon which constable Ejaz and Umer Javed rushed to the scene. The dacoits opened fire and injured both of them. They were shifted to Aziz Bhatti Hospital where Umer Javed passed away. The dacoits managed to flee the scene.
