Summary Due to the heat, increased consumption of electricity has led to more unannounced load shedding.
People living in rural and urban areas of the city protested against the increase in the duration of unannounced load shedding. The students are also facing difficulty as they are preparing for their examination with constant electricity load shedding. The city is facing an electricity shortfall of up to 525 megawatts. As a result, load shedding in the urban areas is up to 10-12 hours and 14-16 hours in the rural areas. According to MEPCO, consumers need 2,400 megawatts but due to the shortfall of 525 megawatts, the consumers should cooperate with them.
