Summary The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed local body elections in NA-172 Dera Ghazi Khan-2.
The LG polls were scheduled to be held on March 24 but the Crisis Management Cell of the Interior Ministry requested the Election Commission to postpone the polls due to ‘urs’ of Hazrat Sakhi Ahmed Sultan. The ministry asked the ECP to postpone the polls due to possible sectarian clashes on March 24. The ECP while accepting the request postponed the polls till March 26.
