Summary Basant is being celebrated in Quetta despite the ban according to Article 144. The city is engulfed in high spirit as people are out on their roofs hooting and celebrating. Enthusiasts have even made a 12 foot kite.
The youth in Quetta is celebrating Basant in high spirits. Youngsters are seen on the roofs, high rise building and in open fields celebrating the tradition. People have set up sound systems and are chanting ‘Boo Kata’ at the top of their lungs.Kites are being flown in Gurdat Singh Road, Kansi Road, Mekangi Road, Alamdar Road, Maali Bagh, Toghi Road, Satellite Town, Shahbaz Town, Jinnah Town and various parts of the city.Some enthusiasts have built 10, 12 and 14 foot kites. As the day progresses the number of kite flyers is increasing in the city.
