Summary Staff of vocational institutes from all over Punjab continues their sit-in for 3rd consecutive day.

Employees of vocational training institutes (VTIs) from all over Punjab continued their sit-in on third day in front of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat after rejecting the committee formed to resolve their issues.The protesting employees of vocational training institutes demanded a regular pay-scale like other government servants to ensure a safe future of their children.The adviser to chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, Manshaullah Butt held talks with the protesters to convince them to end their protest. The government assured the protesters that their demands would be fulfilled and set up a committee of nine members to look into the matter. However, the protesters rejected the committee and demanded for an immediate action.There are around 155 vocational training institutes in Punjab, having 3,000 employees. These institutes were set up in 1998 under the Punjab Vocational Training Council.
