Rickshaw drivers protested against traffic challans and fines charged by the traffic wardens in Lahore. The motorcycle rickshaw drivers blocked the road in Babu Sabu area and clashed with the police.The clash started when one of the drives climbed up an electricity pole in protest while a large number of the residents gathered on the road. Hundreds of vehicles jammed due to blockade while a pregnant woman also trapped in the heavy traffic.Police could not convince the rickshaw driver to come down from the pole while other drivers also climbed the pole in protest. The whole area faced power cut for several hours due to the protest. Police open aerial fire to disperse the mob while the protesters pelted stones on police and beat some police officials.According to latest updates, Babu Sabu area turned into a battlefield and police could not control the situation.
