Summary Train drivers have ended their strike claiming that they were doing so in public interest.
The train drivers were demanding promotions and facilities according to 2010 pay scale and mileage allowance.After failure of dialogues between Train Drivers Association and Managing Director Pakistan Railways, the drivers had given hunger strike call for Thursday.On Wednesday, the dialogues were held in railway headquarter Lahore. The General Manager Railways sought some time but driver leaders refused to give more time.Train drivers were demanding promotions and facilities according to 2010 pay scale and mileage allowance.Later, the train drivers announced to call off the strike claiming that they were doing so in public interest.
