Summary Six passengers suffered burn injuries when a van caught fire near Kharian.
The van was going to Kharian from Gujrat when all of a sudden fire broke out in it.The six passengers who suffered burn injuries were transported to a nearby hospital. Motorway Police blocked off one section of the GT road for rescue activities.It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.Incidents of fire in passengers vans have lately increased mainly due to leakage of CNG.This had prompted the authorities to ban CNG kits in public transport but the decision was withdrawn after transporters protest.
