NA body suggests freezing diesel prices till June

Summary NA Standing Committee has recommended keeping diesel prices unchanged for four months.

A special session of the NA Special Committee was held to review petroleum products price under chairmanship of Naveed Qamar in Islamabad.While talking to the media after the meeting, Naveed Qamar said that the government has decided not to impose raise of Rs 2.80 on consumers, adding that the federal government would subsidise by Rs 8 a litre on diesel price till June. The provinces would also be requested to play their role in this regard, he said.He said that current diesel price would be kept stable till June, the budget month.It is worth mentioning that the Ogra had increased petrol price by Rs 5 while the price of high diesel by Rs 4.64 on February 01.After that, the National Assembly had formed the special body to review recommendations on oil prices.
