LAHORE (Dunya News) – The three-day Basant festival will be celebrated from March 12 to 14, 2027, in Lahore as a new notification has been issued.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Ali Ijaz issued the notification following approval from the Punjab government.
Kite flying will be conditionally permitted within Lahore’s district limits, except in designated prohibited areas.
The notification stated that only kites and kite strings meeting the standards and requirements prescribed by the government may be used during the festival.
It further allows the manufacturing of kites and kite strings from September 5, 2026, to March 14, 2027. Digital registration has also been made mandatory for manufacturers involved in the production of kites and strings.
