ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) will hold the Mufti Mahmood Conference in Multan tomorrow as part of its anti-government movement. JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will announce the next phase of the protest movement at the event.

According to JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri, the conference will pay tribute to the services of Islamic scholar Mufti Mahmood. He said it was important to familiarise the younger generation with Mufti Mahmood’s principled politics, scholarly influence and dignified life.

Aslam Ghauri said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and other party leaders would arrive in Multan today to attend the conference. He added that preparations had been completed and that a strong public turnout would serve as a referendum in support of the JUI chief’s stance.

The JUI spokesperson said that no obstacles to holding the conference would be tolerated. He described the event as a continuation of the party’s public outreach campaign against violations of public rights, inflation, unemployment and lawlessness.

He said the Mufti Mahmood Conference would mark a milestone in efforts to protect the Constitution, safeguard Islamic provisions, end unfair treatment of religious seminaries and promote unity among the Muslim Ummah. He added that the conference would help determine the political direction of South Punjab.

Aslam Ghauri further stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would announce the next phase of the protest movement.

He said the JUI was actively working to establish the rule of law, ensure free and fair elections, and resolve public grievances. He urged people to take to the streets alongside the party to protect their rights.
