MACH (Dunya News) –  At least seven people were killed and more than 30 others injured when a truck collided with a passenger van near Zameendar Hotel in the Mach area of Balochistan on Sunday, police said.

According to police officials, the accident occurred after the truck reportedly suffered brake failure and went out of control, causing the collision. Both vehicles plunged into a ravine, leaving several passengers dead or injured.

Rescue operations were launched following the crash, as emergency teams worked to retrieve the victims and transport the injured to nearby medical facilities.

The injured faced difficulties in being shifted to hospitals, while efforts were being made to transfer them to medical facilities in Quetta for further treatment.

The death toll and number of injured were reported by local authorities, although the identities of the victims had not been provided in the initial information.

Police said further investigations were under way to establish the circumstances of the accident.

The incident highlights the risks associated with serious road accidents on Balochistan’s highways, where vehicle safety, mechanical failures and emergency access can pose significant challenges for passengers and rescue teams.
