ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administration has stopped accepting new maternity cases following the recent fire incident at the hospital’s nursery.
PIMS Executive Director Rana Imran Sikandar confirmed the decision, saying the hospital could not accommodate patients beyond its available capacity.

He said 15 beds in the children’s nursery were completely destroyed in the fire. The nursery previously had 50 beds, but only 35 remain operational.
According to the PIMS executive director, children and other patients will be shifted to hospitals in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to manage the reduced capacity.
Rana Imran Sikandar said letters had been sent to other hospitals regarding the transfer of patients, while some children had already been shifted to Polyclinic.
