Summary MQM-P factions have opened negotiations after violent internal clashes in Karachi, with a joint press conference expected within the next 48 hours.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Communication and negotiations have begun between two factions of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) following internal differences that led to clashes after a party meeting at its Bahadurabad headquarters.
The dispute reportedly erupted after a meeting of senior party leaders, during which supporters of one faction allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with MPA Ejaz-ul-Haq and party leader Zakar, who were associated with the other group.

MQM leader Amin Ul Haque claimed that members of the rival faction resorted to heavy aerial firing during the incident. He said one party worker was injured in the firing, while several others sustained injuries due to stone-pelting.
According to MQM sources, leaders of both factions are now in contact and holding discussions to resolve their differences.
The sources added that a joint press conference by both groups is expected within the next 48 hours, during which they are likely to announce their future course of action.
