Summary PM has termed US Congressional resolution on Balochistan against Pak sovereignty.

Talking to the media in Karachi, the PM said that pak-Iran gasline project would go ahead and would be completed. He also said there is no need fo anyone to worry over restoration of supplies for Nato troops in Afghanistan. He condemned Congressional resolution on Balochistan against Pakistan’s integrity and sovereignty. To a query, PM Gilani repeated that the nation should not worry about resumption of NATO supplies as his government has vacated Shamsi air base and boycotted Bonn conference in national interest. He said for stability in the region, Pakistan wanted better relations with all its neighbors including India and Afghanistan.Replying to a question over contempt case, the prime minister said matter was subjudice and he cannot stop anybody to call him a “political martyr”.To another query, he said Dr Shakeel Afridi, CIA helper, would be treated under the Constitution.PM Gilani said Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project was necessary for the country to overcome energy crisis and this project would be accomplished.A resolution Friday sponsored by Rohrabacher and two fellow Republicans said the Baluchi people have the right to self-determination and to their own sovereign country, and they should be afforded the opportunity to choose their own status. There was no sign of significant support for the proposal by Rohrabacher, a longtime critic of Pakistans government who sought unsuccessfully to cut off all aid after US forces found and killed Osama bin Laden on Pakistani soil.Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar described it as an isolated move by a few individuals. It was aimed to create distrust between the peoples of the two countries, she said in a statement.Khar expressed the hope that this latest tendentious move will not be allowed to sail through the House by a vast majority of US Congressmen who continued to support friendly relations between the two countries.
