RAWALAKOT (Dunya News) - Four personnel of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police were allegedly abducted in Rawalakot by individuals identified by authorities as members of a banned Action Committee, according to official claims.

Authorities said the alleged incident occurred amid an ongoing protest in Rawalakot, which they claimed had seen limited public participation.

Officials alleged that following the protest's failure to attract significant support, members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee resorted to unlawful activities and attempts to create unrest.

According to the official account, individuals led by Khawaja Mehran allegedly abducted four police personnel while they were travelling from their homes to Rawalakot to report for duty.

Officials said the four policemen remain in the custody of the alleged members of the banned organisation.

Authorities further claimed that members of the same group had previously abducted an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the AJK Police and subjected him to severe torture.

They also alleged that the group had earlier attacked the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
