LAHORE (Dunya News) — The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast hot and humid weather in most parts of the country today, with chances of rain at isolated places in northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, while heat and humidity are expected to persist elsewhere.
According to the Met Office, scattered rainfall is likely in parts of northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, while most areas across the country are expected to remain warm and humid.
During the last 24 hours, Nokkundi recorded the highest temperature in the country at 45 degrees Celsius. Temperatures reached 44°C in Dalbandin, Jacobabad and Dadu, while Sukkur recorded 43°C.

Globally, intense heatwaves continue to raise concerns. Experts warn that record-breaking heat in Europe has led to rising illnesses, deaths and infrastructure damage, raising fears that extreme heat events may become increasingly common.
The World Health Organization has urged European countries to adopt long-term strategies to tackle extreme heat, while experts say climate change and global warming could further increase the frequency of severe heatwaves in coming years.
